Almost all smokers have experienced the annoyance and frustration that comes with trying to light up on a windy day. Sometimes, all it takes is a slight breeze to snuff out a lighter. To combat this, many smokers have switched to using a windproof lighter. How do these devices work? Are they actually windproof?

As a matter of fact, these types of lighters actually are wind resistant. Most models are capable of withstanding even high winds.
